it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have entered into a new school year, teaching a new grade and have a new group of students. I am getting to know them in a virtual setting, and their little personalities are starting to shine. My students have always been my inspiration, as they push me to think outside of the box to develop learning experiences to meet their varying interests and diverse needs.
I teach at a Title I school where I am lucky enough to get to work with such dedicated and hardworking students.
I also get to partner with a group of supportive parents and equally supportive staff who share the common goal of creating a learning environment where all children will succeed!
My Project
I am requesting resources to keep my students engaged in remote learning activities that will allow a break from screen time so they can engage in creative writing experiences and build their handwriting skills. Spelling books are a necessity for my 3rd graders for developing a sense of fluency in word recognition and mechanics. The journals will allow for a creative outlet and bond paper, pencil grippers and sticky notes will be used for students to create in writing tasks. The Hot Wheels Cars and balls will be used to give students a hands-on experience they would have had in the classroom when learning about force and energy.
All of these materials will be quite useful in keeping students learning remotely during this pandemic.
