My Students

My students are full of energy, ideas, and words. They love sharing, talking, standing, dancing, and learning.

Our school is in a rural area, but services urban students, who often live in poverty.

We are a Title I school servicing a high population of special education students. My students love learning, but need a lot of additional support, and resources to help them reach their goals every day. My students could benefit from non-traditional learning experiences provided by makerspace materials!

My Project

My students need authentic learning experiences, assessments and audiences. Having GoPro Sessions in the classroom allows them to be responsible and in charge of their learning in authentic and unique ways. The students can capture every step of their learning process and create short videos that explain the importance of their work and what they have learned. This makes sharing their learning, collaborating with others, and opening our classroom to the outside world easier and more attainable.

We need to provide students with the opportunities to succeed in a twenty first century world.

These Go Pros will help my students see their own potential and also visualize their growth throughout the school year.
