My Students

Our students are very inquisitive, curious and kinesthetic learners. My 3rd-5th graders are vibrant little learners. They love hands-on activities and using their creative minds. They have big dreams which I plan to help them accomplish.

Our school is located in a small community with more than 89% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

Many students go home with backpacks full of donated goods to eat over the weekends and holidays. What these students lack in privileges, they more than make up for in their passion for learning with engaging and innovating opportunities. Our students come to school every day despite whatever home struggles they may be facing and put their best foot forward. They deserve the best learning environment I can give them.

My Project

Learning to read is a challenge for many of my students in my remediation class. Most of them struggle with basic phonics skills which is impairing their ability to read fluently. Hooked on Phonics will be a valuable tool to help meet individual student needs.

Interactive and fun phonics materials can help ensure that my students receive the practice that they need in order to become successful readers!

The activities that are provided in Hooked on Phonics will provide my students with an engaging way to build their skills. By daily phonics practice, I am ensuring that my students become proficient readers!
