My Students

I teach technology to over 800 5th and 6th Grade students. My building houses all of the 5th & 6th graders in our District- this means a varying number of interests in different technologies.

My students love using technology and have a strong desire to learn the how and why we use different types of technology.

They are always looking at different ways to use technology and how those technologies apply to the world around them. I push them to think of how they can use technology differently.

My Project

With the use of a Go Pro and hand stabilizer, students will be able to develop content for our school newscast. We have been doing a morning announcements show for several year. Students want to take it up a notch and develop videos of the great things that are going on in our school. This will not only make the morning show more appealing, it will also help develop 21st century skills in our students as they work to write, record, and produce content. The addition of this equipment will make it easy for students to record with such a simple, yet cutting edge technology.
