This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My Kindergarten students are eager learners who attend school in a high-poverty STEM school district in Texas. Over 85% of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. All of my students receive free breakfast. My students are sweet, happy children who are excited about learning. Kindergarten begins the foundation of learning academic and social skills which will carry the students successfully through their academic years. I want to provide resources to help my students have a successful year in Kindergarten!
My Project
My students love listening to great stories at school! I want my students to love reading and listening to books at home, as well.
My Kindergarten students need engaging and funny books, such as The Gingerbread Girl and Gingerbread Cowboy, for family members to read to them.
Many of the children in my class do not have access to books at home. I want to provide each of my Kindergarten students with two books for the holidays. I know that my students will enjoy hearing these new versions of The Gingerbread Man story. I am positive that owning these books will have my students excited about reading and gingerbread!
