Going High-Tech for Literacy and Critical Thinking
My students need Kindle Fires to improve literacy and critical thinking skills.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Cossa's classroom raised $982
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students are amazing! I want to improve their literacy and critical thinking skills this year. I want my students to be able to read text and analyze it critically. I want them to be able to be informed on global issues and feel confident about taking their ideas and solutions to a global forum.
The 6th graders I teach are excited to learn!
My students are inquisitive! They are enthused about the world around them. They are interested to see how they connect to this world. Most of my students lack the resources to do research and read non-fiction text.
My Project
Having these Kindle Fires in the hands of my students on a daily basis will provide them access to the non-fiction text they need to learn how to think critically. This text will help connect them to the world they live in and will help open their eyes and minds to global issues they will encounter as they finish their educational careers and transition into the "real-world."
Funding my project will give my students the resources they need to be successful in their educational careers as well as in their future "real-world" careers.
Due to their limited technology/text resources, my 6th graders have no other way to access text critical to their learning. Donating to this project will significantly impact their literacy skills.
