Our classroom community includes children of ages 3, 4, and 5. It is made up of 20 students who spend extended time in the classroom everyday. They love learning through hands-on experiences!
My preschool students are always asking big questions and wondering about the world around them.
They are eager to learn new information and their curiosity goes beyond the walls of our classroom. They are excited to come to school everyday and they leave our classroom at the end of the day with a big smile and lots of new learned information.
My Project
A new MacBook laptop would transform the information I can bring into the classroom. My kids are always asking big questions and wondering about the world around them that is beyond the walls of our classroom. This laptop will allow my students to investigate and explore all their interests, such as buildings, animals, and how balls get their bounce.
A Macbook contains features and apps that would open the door to opportunities my students don't currently have.
Students could use the dictation feature to add text to their drawings and stories. This would be a powerful experience as my pre-writers learn their words carry meaning and can be translated to text. We would be able to share pictures and videos with classmates and be able to reflect on our work instantly. Since our current school computer comes with endless restrictions and limitations, we can finally watch a video of various buildings being built around the world, watch videos of animals in their own natural habitats and write a digital book about balls. This would support my effort to give my students more inspiration and direction to their play. I can bring this technology to the kids while they are working! This grant would change the way we can push our learning and how our classroom functions.
