This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At the present moment, our current 8th-grade students are in the unknown in terms of what will happen to their graduation and prom. Our school is a Pre-K - 8th grade, some of these students have been together for 8 years. They have built bonds with each other and right now are heartbroken because they are not able to say a final goodbye to their classmates, celebrate each other, nor attend graduation.
My Project
As New York City's Board of Education is faced with uncertainties in terms of schools opening in September, I cannot help but worry about my 8th graders who were forced to learn remotely and might still have to endure this learning mode once summer comes to an end.
These planners will provide my future 9th graders with a guide and tool through the FIRST and MOST important year of their High School years.
These will become an asset to their time management whether in a school building or while learning remotely.
