Goal Setting

Help me give my students the power to see their continued progress by obtaining a printer. We set a lot of goal, but it is difficult for kids to see the discrepancies in their charts when we only print in black/white.

My Students

I teach in a rural farming community school where my students come from a wide range of backgrounds. We have students who live here year round and students who migrate during the year. Our EL population makes up about 1/3 of the students while our free and reduced population is a large percent as well.

Our kids come ready to learn and excited to participate at school.

They have made huge growth so far this year and have been working really hard. We are super proud of them!

My Project

In our class we spend a lot of time talking about goal setting and the power of yet. Our students spend time taking assessments and then getting charts that show their progress. Our current way of looking at these charts are via black and white, which makes it difficult for students to see the discrepancies of one date to the next.

I want to empower my students by showing them their progress in a meaningful way.

One of the best ways to empower people is through visuals and that is why we need a colored printer. We will use the printer for other things in our class like printing projects and student creations, but first and foremost we really want to target their growth.
