I have a very diverse group of students from many cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and learning levels. My students are happy to be in school each day and eager to learn!
My class works well together and strives to be a part of each other's successes!
We start work before the bell rings and work hard until the last minute of school. Every minute counts in our classroom. I am driven by their growth and their excitement. Our days are filled to the brim!
My Project
I am teaching a new reading curriculum this year. One of the goals of the curriculum is to get all students to a place where they WANT to read. One way to do this is to give them access to books that are engaging.
Kids love repetition and The Magic Treehouse series will create a sense of familiarity.
I want my students to have access to many books from the series. It’s reassuring for children to know what to expect in a book. These books will allow many opportunities to experience having that feeling of insider knowledge; A compelling reason for any elementary student to pick up a book!
In addition to The Magic Treehouse series I have added some books on bugs. This will be for my second unit. I am also asking for lap desks to increase engagement through choice seating.
