My Project

Our students are all newcomers and are developing their English language skills. These Flow of Genetic Information kits would allow students to use hands-on models to learn about the flow of genetics. By using a model, our students can better access the science content. The concept of Flow of Genetics is so abstract with loaded science words and information. Learning science content is challenging - now imagine learning science in a foreign language! Students can work with one another to explore the components of genetic flow through manipulatives and hands-on materials, thereby reducing the language load during group work.
