My Students
Our school is a Leader in Me school that strives to find the leader in all students.
Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. We are also a school with a dual-language program, my students strive to find and be their best selves. The students in my class strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.
I hold high expectations for my students; I believe that students will rise to the level of expectation you hold for them.
My hope is that when a student leaves my classroom they will leave knowing someone cared about them. I want them to find that love of learning that comes inherent in any child but needs to be cultivated to grow.
They are participating also in a program called Dual Language Immersion, studying the Portuguese language every day, through Math, Science and Social Studies. It's amazing what they've learned so far and I truly believe they will learn much more with more resources.
My Project
The decoration in the classroom helps the children familiarize better with the subjects they're learning, as well as organizing mentally and visually the activities of the day. The decorative items will be used on that matter.
The manipulative letters will be used to make the students aware of word compositions and for them to create new sentences as they are in the process of learning how to read and speak in Portuguese.
The other supplies are for writing and coloring, since we make tons of activities exploring the language, and arts and crafts help a lot on those particular issues.
Some students need to focus better on their learning and are sometimes too active; the rubber bands for their chairs and the flexible seating attires are supposed to make them focus on their learning targets and receive more information and, in the middle, more knowledge.
