This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Being able to read in a comfortable, safe, and inviting place can create a greater love of reading!
My third grade students need an inviting, comfortable place to sit, read, and learn. As a teacher, my goal is to give all of my students a place in our classroom at school where they can feel safe and be able to explore the world through books! Currently, my students would rather sit at their desks and read because there is not an inviting spot on the floor for them to enjoy.
The rug requested in this project will create a reading area in our classroom where all my students, both current and future, will enjoy sitting and reading books that will teach and reach them. This rug will be used daily during independent reading time, when the students will be allowed to sit on it and enjoy reading and discussing their books with peers. Further, my students will be sitting on this rug daily during language arts while we discuss our current reading story and discover how books can enrich our lives!
Your help and support of this project will benefit all my students by giving them a place where they can explore the world of books! You will be providing my students with a place in our classroom where they can comfortably spend quality time with books and classmates!
