Oce-Latte Cafe is a coffee cart run by special education students which has numerous benefits. These materials will make a difference in that it provides valuable vocational training opportunities for the students, allowing them to learn practical skills such as customer service, money handling and teamwork. This hands-on experience helps develop confidence, independence, and a sense of accomplishment. It will also foster social interactions and inclusion within the school community. Students can engage with staff promoting social skills, communication, and building relationships. This cart can be an avenue for entrepreneurship exploration, encouraging creating and problem-solving as students manage inventory, handle transactions, and make decisions regarding pricing and promotions.
Oce-Latte Cafe is up and running and has been a huge success
As we have gotten going in our journey the students discovered through some inquiring and research that we can recycle the inside coffee in our K-Cups and place in our schools Composting garden. They were so excited to learn this. So we are expanding our coffee cart into a composting bin as well.
