Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Going green daily is a challenge we are willing to take on. Everyday in our school plastic bottles get tossed away, so we want to make sure they get recycled, reused and doing this will help us reduce the waste.
I teach at a title one school in California.
I have 23 first grade students. They are so interested in helping the Earth, and are constantly trying to learn new ways to recycle, reduce and reuse. They are energetic, enthusiastic learners who come to school ready to learn. They are so enthusiastic about recycling they have managed to talk other adults from our school to help us recycle.
My Project
I am asking for two containers and one lid to put our recycling materials in. My students come in from lunch with their empty bottles everyday because it is their way of helping the Earth. It would help them keep a tidy classroom and give them a place to keep recycling. I am also asking for a Kindle Fire order to allow my students to access books online about recycling, reducing and reusing items. They have very limited access to technology and a Kindle Fire will allow them to view videos about recycling so they can see how important and necessary their efforts are.
My students have really taken an interest in recycling.
We need the recycling containers and Kindle Fire to continue to learn about our efforts. Please help me continue to instill the value of responsibility in my students. They are learning that recycling, reducing, and reusing is a responsibility for everyone. By providing them with the materials we need you will help them with their efforts.
