Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very diverse; they come from 30 different countries from all over the world. Some have escaped war torn countries, natural disasters, and famine. Others are here because their parents found work overseas. The rest are natives from the inner city of Los Angeles who are trying to count their blessings and do their best to overcome many obstacles. All are learning from their diverse cultures and overcoming many barriers. They are driven to succeed and always try their hardest.
My Project
My students are always asking really insightful questions. I want them to have the ability to pursue their interests on the spot. It's the worst when I say "look it up" and they can't because they don't have data on their phone or the laptop cart is in another class.
I want my students to have full access to at least one source of information at all times.
This Chromebook will be available to them always, for researching interesting things about the math topics they are learning and making new connections.
They should also have a place they always know they can go to print papers and projects for their other classes.
This computer will also be used for projecting math apps to the whole class. It will make lessons more vivid and easier to follow.
