My Students

We live in a small rural North Carolina county. Many of my students come from low-income families. The cheerleading squad is made up of an amazing group of young ladies. They practice late nights, holidays, and weekend to compete and still be able to cheer for our football and both the girls and boys basketball teams. The team has a strong work ethic. Because of this, our team is the reigning the NC State Cheerleading Champions.

The girls need to attend UNC Cheer Clinic to learn new methods to motivate our teams and get our crowd involved during our games.

My Project

Donations for this project will provide an opportunity for our cheerleaders who will learn skills from the UNC Cheerleaders and then perform what they learned at the UNC football game. All skills learned will be brought home and used to create school spirit and excitement at our own home football games.

It goes hand in hand with positivity and is a benchmark of a school’s holistic success.” This statement is a quote from a NFHS 2015 study on school athletics and achievement. This project will help us improve our school and community and teach our cheerleaders skills to continue to cheer in college.
