All the students at my school deserve the best! I have some really amazing, dynamic third graders. That’s why I have decided to go to third grade with them. My students have a ton of personality. This group of students are incredible and deserve the best learning opportunities.
I work at a Title I school in Los Angeles.
That means a large portion of our population qualifies for free or reduced price lunch because of their socio-economic status. We are an environmental studies school.
My Project
Having Chromebooks in my classroom will help my students access curriculum. Many of my students do not have access to technology or the internet at home. They either have to go to the library or go without. I currently have 7 laptops in my classroom (one is my personal computer), and equitable access time for 21 students is very short in the classroom. Many of our curriculum programs have online components to afford teachers small group interaction with students. However, what happens during this time is seven students work online, six work with the teacher, and eight students can occasionally be loud or create havoc. Then no one is learning. Allowing them access to the curriculum online component will also create students who are 21st Century college bound ready. Thank you.
