Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Please donate to my classroom some social emotional tools, play areas, and a book. I work in a school where we have to teach social emotional skills in a daily basis. Students don’t get to experience being social with other kids their age before coming to me. I use play-doh as a daily resource when coming into class to calm students down and let them know it’s a safe place to learn and be, however they are feeling.
The little playhouse will be a welcome space in our playground to let kids explore social situations real or imaginary that could help with understanding other students feelings and emotions.
I am also including a book for each of them that always is my classroom favorite. The Gruffalo is a great book that my students always love and fight over at the library. The book also is a great way to discuss other people’s feelings and view points. I would love to give them a book to take home that they absolutely love!
