This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work with an incredible group of junior high students in our Latinos in Action (LIA) program. These students are leaders in our school and community, dedicated to service, academic excellence, and cultural pride. They work hard all year long to mentor younger students, plan community events, and develop leadership skills.
To reward their efforts and celebrate their achievements, we are hosting a glow-in-the-dark dance—a fun, inclusive event that will allow students to come together, build friendships, and enjoy a night of excitement and self-expression.
We are requesting glow-in-the-dark supplies to transform our gym into a glowing, unforgettable dance floor! These materials will help us create a vibrant, high-energy event where every student can shine—literally!
Your donation will help us purchase glow sticks, markers and balloons for the dance and advertisement of the dance.
Many of our students don’t have access to big school dances or social events outside of school. By making this event fun, affordable, and inclusive, we are ensuring that every student, regardless of background, can participate in a magical night of music, dancing, and connection.
This is more than just a dance—it’s an opportunity for our Latinos in Action students to build community, celebrate culture, and create a school tradition that fosters pride and belonging.
