This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students learn best when engaged and working collaboratively on math concepts. The novelty and excitement of glow in the dark games will capture their attention as they focus on solving problems.

Associating math with fun, glowing games can reshape negative attitudes toward the subject.

The glow in the dark deck of cards will be used to reinforce multiplication facts and integer rules. Students will practice area and volume by using neon building blocks. Students will also be using neon highlighters to solve multi-step equations and inequalities. The set of dice will be used to practice order of operations and central tendency. Each glow in the dark activity will reinforce previously taught concepts as students work on them collaboratively.
