Glow and Grow

Help me give my students these amazing glow in the dark materials that will transform my classroom into a very exciting environment that will be sure to assist me in growing their compassion and make learning meaningful!

My Project

Let me start with how excited I am for this project! My classroom will be transformed into a "Glow Party" to help students build compassion for those having a difficult time in school or in their personal life as well as make it an environment that is more engaging and an exciting place to learn! Students in elementary school have to be taught the concept of compassion because sympathizing with others doesn't always come naturally. The amazing thing about this project is that it will lead to the connection of our IB Learner Profile Attributes (Knowledgeable, Inquirer, Caring, Communicator, Risk-Taker, Balanced, Open-Minded, Reflective, Thinker, and Principled) by building their understanding of them through activities with these materials. They will also be challenged to use these learner profile attributes as a way to recognize feelings in others to grow their compassion towards one another. They will also be able to earn "Glow Parties" where they can use the materials to write uplifting letters to friends, teachers, and family when the need arises!

This room transformation will be so much fun, allow for growth in the area od compassion they can use their entire lives, but also academically focused!

My students will have the opportunity to practice growing important life skills, reading skills, and writing skills through this project! I would love to continue to give meaningful learning experiences to them throughout the school year and can do so with the materials requested in my project!
