Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my class are preschoolers with Autism and other Developmental needs, ages 3 to 5 years old. They come from a variety of homes with diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds. Our school is in a low-income community.

Although they are all non-verbal, my students have found a way to communicate their love and learning in so many ways.

I currently have 7 students in my class. However, as more children are being diagnosed with Autism each day, my class size continues to grow.

My Project

We recently were given a lightbox for our classroom. This box projects light through it and so the students get to use different colored blocks to build and manipulate the light. They love it! We borrowed some colored blocks from another preschool class and we have learned that our kids would love to have some colored blocks, letters, numbers and shapes of their own.

Please help our minds grow as we glow!
