The quickest way to travel around the world is with a globe. My students need a new globe in our classroom so they can travel the world! My name is Lisa Cox and I teach First Grade in Glen Rose, Texas. We are a small district and have over half of our students on free or reduced lunch. We average about 18-22 students in our Elementary classes. The globe I have in my room is very old. It wiggles on the metal stand and twists at an angle that pinches little (or big) fingers. It has been taped so many times at the equator (where it is breaking open) it has taken on a whole new shape. In addition, the globe is so old that it is out of date! I use the globe daily as we read a story or explore many topics in science and social studies. We find Texas on the globe and then take off from there to our destination!
