Global Student Project to Help Achieve UN's 17 Global Goals
My students need a webcam with a tripod to record classroom discussions they will be sharing with 30 other classrooms throughout the world.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Wilson's classroom raised $342
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a Title 1 school in Los Angeles full of students with an insatiable curiosity about the world. We expose our kids to as many experiences as possible. From trips all over the U.S. to visit colleges, to hiking in Zion National Park, to a ropes course on Catalina Island, our students take on these challenges with gusto.
Although our students face many obstacles in their home life, they know that education will make their future stronger and brighter.
We do not have a funded Arts program, yet put on a Showcase attended by 100s. We have a small athletic program without any home fields, yet a large percentage of our students participate. If they are not on the field or court, they are in the stands cheering.
My Project
We have partnered with over 20 schools across Europe, South America, and Africa to discuss the 17 Sustainable Development Goals created by the United Nations in September 2015. During this school year, we will collaborate on common issues affecting our own neighborhoods, as well as addressing the issues facing our entire planet.
A webcam will allow vital conversations to occur between our urban Los Angeles students, science students in Italy, French students in vocational training and boarding school students in Sweden.
Already, their similarities are more evident than differences. In time, solutions to the big problems are much more possible.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
