My Project

My School is a Title I school with very low funding. The students here are beyond talented. My goal is to create an avenue for young musicians to play the drums and all percussion instrument. A great creative outlet, drumming can help my students to learn new, useful abilities that will help them grow as an individual. Drumming helps to build confidence, allows students to play all styles of Music. Having the drum in the musical classroom teaches discipline, and it is aa perfect form of exercise. The heartbeat of every musical genre is the beat of the drums. The possibilities for musical exploration are practically limitless once they learn to play the drums. Samba, metal, country, folk, pop, hip-hop, reggae, gospel, and jazz are just a few examples. In all musical genres, the drums have a place in the mix. My School has a diverse culture and they will all learn different genres of music through drumming.
