This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every day, students walk past a mound of dirt and weeds that is walled off with concrete. This mound is the home of our school's garden, which has deteriorated over the years. This year, I was able to bring back a section of AP Environmental Science, and the students are eager to put the knowledge and expertise from their Ecocolumn experiment to use.

Chicago Public School students deserve to have a safe space to think, reflect, and embrace nature on campus.

Our AP class is ready to break ground and get started, but we need your help. The school will be offering a camp program that I will be facilitating, and it is geared towards restoring areas on campus. We need trees, gardening tools, weed barrier cloth, and more.
