Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As educators, we know the devastating effects of online learning. Upon returning in person this school year, I discovered that 88% of my students never owned a print book at home. When I heard this, I began giving away most of my books from my classroom library to our students. It worked out because we were told we aren’t allowed to have furniture, including a classroom library, due to COVID restrictions. Our students aren’t also allowed to check out books from the school library. I know how important a classroom library is but I also know my students needed the books as well. As restrictions are being lifted, I know I’m going to need a classroom library very soon. Our students are working so hard this year to become exceptional readers, and the help of this donation, it’ll give them the boost they need to get there. This classroom library set is fun, differentiated, exciting, and the students deserve the right to have an amazing classroom library! Thank you so much for the opportunity you are giving the Arizona teachers!
