Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from diverse backgrounds from around the globe and attend a high poverty school. I feel they should have the advantages that would be in an affluent school. They are second language learners and work exceptionally hard to acquire speaking and reading skills.
These amazing students love to learn and need to be reached in a variety of different ways.
They are fun, creative, questioners and dreamers. I want my students to be challenged and to have high-quality and high-interest materials to engage them and help them be knowledgeable about life outside of our city.
My Project
Scholastic News is a top rated peridocial that is geared towards positive current evernts. These magazines grasp the attention of the most basful readers as well as inspire a love of reading. Scholastic News helps build background knowledge and vocabulary. The extensions help to inspire writing and encourage higher order thinking.
By providing Scholastic Magazine for my students you will be investing in their remote learning.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these magazines will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading.
