Do you remember creating the perfect masterpiece? I have always enjoyed art. Looking at other peoples' art and creating my own have always made me smile. I remember in school creating art and not being able to wait to show it off at home. I want my students to do the same!
My students are wonderful first graders who love to learn.
The school my students attend is located in North Carolina. We are a high poverty school with very little extra resources. We are not a Title One school even though we are high poverty. We receive less funding than a Title One school, but need the same amount of help.
My Project
Who doesn't love art? I always grew up loving art so much. I remember making art in school and not being able to wait to take it home and show my family. I want my students to have the same experience. My students do get art class, but only three times per month. I want my students to experience art more.
I have requested art supplies like paint, paper, markers, art frames, paint cups, brushes and more. I would love to use these art supplies and integrate art with our writing time. I want my students to be able to create wonderful pictures to go with their stories. I want my students to be able to expand their imagination and create art they are proud of. I want my students to be able to look back at their masterpieces years from now and say, "Wow, look what I created."
Giving to this project would help 21 wonderful first graders be able to use their imaginations and create wonderful masterpieces.
Funding this project will help put a smile on my students' faces and allow them to be the creative individuals they are by expanding their imagination through art! Please help provide my students with hands-on engagement during learning!
