This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are English Language Learners. They have been in this country for about two years or less. Many of them are from Ecuador, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic. Some are from other Latin American countries such as Mexico and El Salvador. All of them receive a free school lunch. Many of their families use the food bank at our school and nearby. These students are eager to learn and look forward to achieving academically.
My Project
Our students are fortunate to receive tablets or iPads from the Department of Education but those only work so well when it comes to writing and preparing for state exams. Pecking at the screen when the keyboard nearly takes up half of it has been very hard on our students. If they have a Bluetooth keyboard to accommodate them, I'm sure they'll be able to complete work and learn at a more rapid rate than they've been. Could you imagine writing 3 or 4 pages on your iPad or phone? Thank you so much for your help!
