This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In 2017 we began the tradition of opening a Holiday Shop for our students. It began with a handful of donations and a lot of late-night crafting. Over the past few years, it has grown little by little, and I am hoping to make it even more magical this year.
The Holiday Shop not only provides an opportunity for students to experience the joy of giving, but it also helps to enhance their love of reading as any proceeds from the sale will be used to support literacy at our school.
To make the shop even more exciting for our students, I would love to get the students involved in crafting and creating gift items. They will have the added experience of feeling proud to see others "purchasing" the gifts that they've made as every student will be given Holiday Shop "money" to purchase a gift item made by students in the school using all the wonderful supplies from this project, including the felt, paint, beads, thread, wood, paracord and so much more!
