My Students

I work at a Title I school that has students from various socio-economic backgrounds. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch daily due to the majority of students who need free breakfast and lunch.

I love my students because they try their hardest, no matter what is happening outside of school in their world.

My students love to read, write, and really love a good science project. Their imaginations are vivid and it is so refreshing to be in a classroom with them.

My Project

This year I have decided to focus on phonics and sight words to help build a strong foundation for young readers. With a variety of learning styles, these books can help all children feel successful in reading.

All children want to feel successful in reading!

Some children struggle however, with these books I can work with my small groups to adjust a teaching method for their specific learning style. These books can help all my students by giving them the foundation skills needed to be a great reader. There are many different books in this project request, including non-fiction. These non-fiction books will also help build their background knowledge which will help with their vocabulary.
