Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an amazing group of students. They are so spunky and full of energy. We love to engage in in-class discussions and build off of one another. Even though my students are extremely chatty and can sometimes be disruptive, their intentions are always good at heart and they have a genuine respect for their teachers.
My students are on the right track to becoming model citizens.
They are caring individuals who take the time to foster growth in one another. I have never come across another group of young adults who display this level of nurturing pedagogy.
My Project
Fluorescent light filters would help tremendously in creating the best possible learning environment for my students. I have several students that struggle with chronic headaches/migraines and these light filters will help reduce the amount of harsh fluorescent light the students are exposed to in the classroom.
Students need an environment they are comfortable in to ensure optimal levels of learning.
Flexible seating options will help create this comfortable environment. Students spend all day sitting in uncomfortable plastic chairs. Differentiation in seating options will help students invigorate the thinking process by being more comfortable and also having a choice in how they experience the classroom.
