My students need comfortable, durable floor seating options. I have found that students love sitting on the floor, but they also want to lean back. These seats are a perfect blend of the two!

My Students
I teach at a small, rural public school in Northwest Oklahoma. Our community is centered around the agricultural industry. My school is a Title I school and over 50% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches. Because so many of the students have grown up together, We have great potential to be a supportive classroom “family”. Our family is diverse in many ways—passions, strengths and weaknesses, academic interests, and, of course, personalities—but our diversity is what makes us strong!
My Project
Students learn best when they are in charge of their own learning. One way to provide this to them is to offer as many choices as possible. Therefore, in my classroom, one choice students have every day is where to work. I have learned that many kids prefer sitting on the floor to sitting in chairs. Unfortunately, our floors are hard! These floor seating options will give students the chance to sit on the floor comfortably, so that they can focus on their learning, not on getting comfortable. Please help me offer this choice to students, so that their focus can be better spent on finding their passions and learning about the world.
