Give Our Non or Minimally Speaking Children Communication Tools!
Help me give my students a voice. Our students are non speaking or minimally speaking even though they have a lot to say! We need these supplies for children to use AAC for better communication!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Julie's classroom raised $439

My Project
We have 2 kindergarten classes with children who have severe struggles to communicate and are non or minimally speaking. Many have a lot to say but need help through pictures to make known their wants, needs, and thoughts.
These children have a lot to share!
This allows them to do so and studies show that communication systems help develop language and can often help speech to develop as well. These systems will be portable by using the binders and will be able to go back and forth between home and school. Many of our parents are non English speaking immigrants but can use the systems at home because they are made up of pictures!
We are a team of teachers and therapists setting up the classrooms and the therapy sessions to maximize communication using picture symbols and words. We do this by making communication charts or using individual symbols, laminating them and placing them in a child's binder for them to have access to it as they need it.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
