My students need royal blue and white pom poms for the cheerleading team.
This project expired on February 12, 2016.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My team is made up of crowd pleasing, cheer yelling, stunt building, toe touching, hand clapping, big smiling cheerleaders. Our middle school's cheerleaders work hard everyday to boost our Mustang pride!
Our middle school cheerleaders are not just scholars and athletes, but leaders within our school and community, as well.
Because they are so passionate about cheerleading, they work very hard each week at practices and games to demonstrate our Mustang pride. Our girls attend a single-gender, Title I middle school with 98% free and reduced lunch in a socioeconomically disadvantaged part of the city. Our cheerleaders face many obstacles each day coming from lower income and/or single parent families. Having an organized athletic program is a great outlet for our girls, especially since they will be able to take the skills they learn here into their future careers as high school, and even college, cheerleaders.
As a district, we are facing budget cuts and there is no money available to buy pom poms to go with our uniforms that we were able to purchase last year. These new uniforms were a long time coming and look great, but would really be set off by pom poms.
Having cheerleading pom poms will help my cheerleaders with their performance at games and pep rallies. Pom poms always make motions sharper and more exciting. The girls will be able to add pizazz to their cheers and dances when they use their pom poms while attracting the attention of the fans and the opposing team.
Having cheerleading pom poms will help our girls finally feel like a real team.
The pom poms will help to boost their confidence for years to come while building teamwork and good sportsmanship.
