Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my students are newcomers to the country, and they are in the process of adjusting to life in a new culture and language.
These students face unique challenges in learning English while also navigating academic content in a new environment.
As their teacher, I am dedicated to providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed in their language development and academic growth.
I am requesting a $100 gift card through DonorsChoose to purchase materials that will specifically support my newcomer students. This funding will help me access English language learning resources and other materials that are crucial for their success. With the gift card, I plan to purchase:
Interactive language-learning worksheets and activities that are geared towards beginner English speakers.
Visual aids, flashcards, and vocabulary cards that will help them build essential language skills.
Bilingual resources to bridge the gap between their native language and English, ensuring a smoother transition.
Social-emotional learning materials to help newcomers adjust to their new environment and feel more comfortable in the classroom.
These materials will provide my newcomer students with the support they need to develop basic English proficiency, build confidence, and integrate more successfully into the classroom environment. Your donation will play a critical role in helping these students feel seen, heard, and empowered to reach their full potential.
