Help me give my students stories with characters who look and act like them! Let's show my students how to be successful!

My Project

My school is made up of 85% African American students. They are amazing! I plan on making a display with these books to show my students a whole section of book covers with people who look just like them.

My students need books with characters who look and act like them; they need real literary role models!

These books will allow my students to read about others making mistakes and learn from the book instead of having to make those same mistakes in real life; it will be a way to process their lives from the safety of the couch.
