Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work with students identified with special education needs through the school. As the year has progressed, we have identified a need to support some students in a smaller quieter environment. Included in my project is a fridge to keep student lunches and snack cold during the day, flexible seating and various art supplies.
Some of the general education classrooms in our building are too loud and dysregulating for my students who identified on the autism spectrum.
We have found a separate quiet setting is great for keeping the students more engaged. When they are more engaged, they are more likely to learn the material.
