Give My Second Graders the Start They Need to Succeed!

Help me give my students the classroom of their dreams, while also giving them the supplies they need to succeed. The fidget toys will help my students focus and get the most out of their learning.

My Students

My students are hard-working, energetic, loving, determined 8 and 9-year-olds from Philadelphia, PA. We are an underfunded, Title I school, in an inner-city, where many ethnicities come together to learn and explore while speaking over forty languages! They are tackling distant learning but as always, there are some challenges. There are some items in which it would make it easier for them to learn at home.

They are new to second grade but are experts at wanting to learn.

Though this transition is challenging, my students are very determined to continue to learn through it all. I worry their learning will be less effective with the lack of resources. I am excited to experience this new transition with them. I am trying to create a classroom and classroom environment in which they feel welcomed and happy to learn.

My Project

All of the supplies will be used to give my students a great start to the school year. Some of them haven't been inside a school building since grade K. The school decorating supplies will be used to create a welcoming environment. I want students to feel like their classroom is their safe haven, and that begins with setting a welcoming tone. The fidget toys will help my students focus on the topics that might be hard for them to understand. Coming back to school after a long time, they might experience times of nervousness and these fidgets will help them calm down. Thank you for all the donations in advance.
