My Project
My students come from many different cultural and economic backgrounds and and they deserve an in-class library that reflects them. My students are so curious and receptive to learning new things and they love to read. But many don't have access at home to the books they want to read or someone with time to drive them to the public library.
The best way to encourage reading is to have the books right at student's fingertips.
I want to give students easy access to as many diverse books and perspectives as possible before they lose interest in reading on their own. They have gone through our small in-class library and have been asking for more, MORE! Our school doesn't have a school library, so I know they'd be as grateful as their teacher.
These are all books requested by students. Please help us fund our small but mighty classroom library. The more students read on their own, the more their curiosity and empathy grows.
