My school is located in an urban school district and serves over 2500 students. I teach courses in United States History, Psychology and Child Development for high school students interested in careers working with children.
Our classroom was just outfitted with an interactive whiteboard which projects anything on the computer screen up onto a whiteboard. It is also interactive in that the entire screen can be controlled with a pen tool. This pen tool also allows students to draw or write on the board. The possibilities are endless and the students are engaged in their daily lessons!
We are in need of an accessory that comes with the Activeboard that we did not have the money to fund. It is called an Activslate and will allow students to control the whiteboard while remaining in their seats. I will be able to circulate the room, giving control over the whiteboard to students that I hand the slate. Class will run more smoothly as time taken for students to come up to the board and return to their seats is time that can better be spent learning.
