My Project
I am requesting items to create break boxes for students in my classes. Breaks allow children to regulate their bodies and calm down when they may be feeling overstimulated. I'd like to be able to provide a break box with items in it such as squishy balls, fidget spinners, stretchy toys, bins that they can store their break items in.
Breaks throughout the day are important for students with Autism to provide them with periods of time away from stressful demands.
Sometimes we give breaks to try to help students regulate their sensory system and other times it is to allow them to take a break from work to help their engagement in the learning.
