I teach special education to students in grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade in a Title I school. I love my students and all of the great success they have in my room. Every day they love to learn new ideas and be creative. My students come to me with a wide range of abilities in the areas of reading, math, writing, and social/ emotions.
Students come to school with a wide variety of experiences and emotions.
Since they come to school with a wide variety of experiences and emotions having a place for them to understand and process those emotions is vital and is very beneficial to them. Giving them this space will create a sense of well-being and comfort for my students.
My Project
My students will use the stretchy animals, weighted animal, and sensory balls to calm down when they are in a stressful situation. My projects supplies will have a lasting impact on my students because it can help them calm down and take a break and then return to their school day. Along with my students using my project supplies they will have a better understanding of how to handle stressful situations and their emotions. When students can handle stressful students and know how to calm down this is a skill they can take with them the rest of their lives.
