This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most (90%) of our wonderful students live below or near the poverty line. About 60% of our students are learning English in school. Sometimes, our school struggles to get the resources we need to teach and care for our incredible students. This makes the job of a school even more important.

Many students we teach experience poverty, but that's just where they are starting.

Our students love to create art and read. They write computer codes and even perform Shakespeare. They have big dreams, but they need to work hard now. Help them reach for those dreams!

My Project

This year, more than 10% of the students in my classroom have a Native American heritage. One of my students has even taught the class some words in Navajo. All of our students love to read, but the problem is we don't have books that reflect this culture. Let's fix that!

By choosing this project you will be sending our classroom a HUGE box of books that help students see themselves in the books they read.

Students will be able to read about American Indian heroes, the indigenous rights movement, and Native American characters. Help us get kids reading and learning!
