My Students

I teach at an amazing school full of diversity. We have over 700 students, over 100 are English as a Second Language students, over 100 are Advance Program students, along with a robust regular education program and special needs program. We call ourselves "The Greatest School on Earth," and we truly are! As our school's Digital Learning Coach, I am behind the scenes each week monitoring teachers and students as they navigate this 'new' way of learning through NTI - Non-Traditional Instruction. I see if from all angles...the teacher, the student with a working computer/Chromebook/iPad, and the student with an outdated iPad that won't update/laptop still running on Windows 7. I am also our school's Girls Who Code Club sponsor. I have been trying to keep my girls engaged by having weekly Book Club Google Meets with them. We are reading 'Girls Who Code, The Friendship Code' and should finish by the end of the school year.

My Project

I have been hosting a book club with my Girls Who Code Club each week through Google Meet. The 25 of us get together, discuss a few chapters in the book and just have some 'girl time'. We will finish Book One in the series, Girls Who Code, The Friendship Code, just in time for summer break.

I would love to continue to connect with my girls over the summer and meet with them weekly and read the second book in the series, Girls Who Code, Team BFF.

Being able to mail these books directly to them would mean so much to them and to me! Your donations would make it possible for me to keep them engaged over the summer!
