My Students

My students are amazing, marvelous, and challenging on many levels. They come to school excited and eager to experience an exciting lesson. I often refer to them jokingly as “challenging customers” that refuse to accept second best. As I try my best to provide excellent customer service to my clientele, I find that it is never enough to just teach.

It is a journey to discover how best to serve every single one of my students and get them ready for college and for life, and I am enjoying the ride.

Our school is a Title I school in Atlanta where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students are facing many socioeconomic challenges that hinder their academic success. As I observe them interact with one another, enthused in a lesson, I regain my conviction that a future is possible and achievable for all my students.

My Project

For our ladies or athletes in general, staying in one spot without moving is a recipe for disaster. Wearing a running watch is a good tool for training and motivation as it captures steps, miles, and heart rate as well as the distance to the set goal.

The running watches will allow my lady athletes to continue to move even during Distance Learning until we are allowed to face off on the field.

With your help, my girls will continue to move and train. This training will also open the door for conversations where we share tips about staying healthy and fit even during the restrictions of the pandemic.
