My Project
My students are the founding class of the first Staten Island public school for girls and gender-expansive youth, and they need books! They are 6th graders of various levels and backgrounds. The books in this project have girls as protagonists or are written by women. This is one way to help my students feel represented while supporting their literacy.
Books can change lives for the better.
These young girls need to have access to stories that can help spread cultural awareness, develop empathy and introspection, and celebrate girl power. Thank you!
