Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school, and despite the high poverty, over 95% free and reduced lunch, and language barriers, our students come to school with smiles on their faces and are eager to learn and take advantage of new learning opportunities and experiences.

Our students come to us primarily from Central and South America.

Many of them do not speak English upon entering our school. As English Learners, not only do they have the daunting task of learning English just to get by in the world, but be able to learn the same math, science and social studies and literature that all students are required to learn.

Help me give our students access to supplies that will create the best conditions for them to learn.

My Project

Our female students are in desperate need of menstrual products and pads for their monthly menstrual cycle. For early middle schoolers, menstrual cycles can be long and unpredictable. I am asked almost daily by my female students for a pad and want to be able to always have them in my room. I keep extra supplies for my students because they are almost never prepared for that moment! I also have visits from former students because they know I have them ready.

I am asking for menstrual pads for my students!

I want to be sure I can offer a pad to any girl in need.
